Dear Reader,
Did you receive our brochure and information on our fascinating new course, Money Matters: Jewish Business Ethics?
Money Matters is all about making money, lack of money, holding on to your money, using it wisely, and much more - from the perspective of Jewish law.
I think it is one of the most interesting and relevant courses that JLI has ever introduced - and I don’t want you to miss out!
Here is a sampling of some of the other issues that we will discuss:
• Can you paint over rust before selling a car?
• Under what circumstances can you sell an object above it's fair value?
• Can you query a salesperson about an article you intend buying on the internet?
• Should there be minimum wages?
• Should there be a right to bargain collectively and to strike?
• Should CEO's be paid exorbitant wages?
• Should insider-trading be considered a crime?
• Is it ethical to declare bankruptcy and discharge your debt?
Because I have been away for several weeks, we are extending our Early Bird Discount for the course until this coming Monday, Feb 6. Additionally, bring along a friend or relative who has not recently participated in a JLI Course and we will give each a further 10% discount. But please hurry - we cannot extend this further as we need to order the text-books no later than Monday afternoon, Feb 6. Please click here to register or call Helen on 9371 7300 ext 4
With best wishes for a Good Shabbos,
Rabbi Benzion Milecki OAM

In view of the unstable state of the entire world at this time, I urge everyone to recite the following prayers, which according to the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, of blessed memory, have the ability to steady a shaky world
At the beginning of the day, the following should be recited:
Behold I accept upon myself the positive commandment, "You shall love your neighbour as yourself."
One should say these next verses after one's prayers every day. Or if, for some reason one doesn't pray, then at least these verses should be recited:
Do not fear sudden terror, nor the destruction of the wicked when it comes. Contrive a scheme, but it will be foiled; conspire a plot, but it will not materialize, for G-d is with us. To your old age I am [with you]; to your hoary years I will sustain you; I have made you, and I will carry you; I will sustain you and deliver you. Indeed, the righteous will extol Your Name; the upright will dwell securely in Your presence.
