Is Being Good Relative?
|
|
Dear <~~First~~>,
A number of people have been asking when I would recommence posting podcasts on the web: it's been quite a while!
Well, for the new year I have decided that rather than waiting for everything to be perfect, I would just commence and post an audio file here, if not every week, then at least on a semi-regular basis. At a later date, I will either open a new audio blog or a iTunes Store stream.
We have all heard of moral relativism. This week's audio shiur focuses on relative righteousness. Is being good an absolute, or is it possible to be relatively good? Click here to hear the answer. It's only six minutes long!
I would be interested in getting feedback on my audio shiurim. Let me know if there are any particular topics that you would like me to discuss.
I am also look forward to commencing our new Jewish Learning Institute series this coming Monday and Wednesday - Soul Maps. A very warm welcome to all our participants.
With best wishes for a Good Shabbos.

Secret Service
Moishe Goldberg was heading out of the Synagogue one day, and as always Rav Mendel was standing at the door, shaking hands as the congregation departed.
The rabbi grabbed Moishe by the hand, pulled him aside and whispered these words at him: 'You need to join the Army of God!'
Moishe replied: 'I'm already in the Army of God, Rabbi.'
The rabbi questioned: 'How come I don't see you except for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur?"
Moishe whispered back: 'I'm in the secret service"
